The Tirana

Small village in size, but of great cultural and religious significance, celebrating one of the most important pilgrimages in Chile: Between 12 and 18 July 18 each year thousands of visitors arrive to worship the Virgin of Carmen. The peak day is July 16. In the village stands the church which was built at the beginning of the twentieth century and which borders the Plaza de Armas. On one side is the Museum of La Virgen de la Tirana where they keep the gifts she receives. There, parties are held in her honour.

Tirana

I have known the city of Tirana since my first year of life, hot during the day and very cold at night joins the faith and tradition of the people who in pampino worked with nitrate and where every July 16th they come to see again The Virgin of Carmen of the Tirana. In my life this marks the beginning of reencountering my family roots. In July it is impossible to walk!
