Wine Night

Every year on August 15 in the village of Competa, we celebrate the Night of Wine, a traditional party, which marked the beginning of when workers marched to collect grapes. On August 15, we also celebrate the day of the town's patron, Our Lady of the Assumption. In the morning, the party begins with "treading grapes", and there is a free tasting of delicious local sweet wine. Later in the night, the party moves to the Plaza de Almijara, where there is a stage and there is a party with folk performances and many artists and writers.
