The restaurant is located on the Cours Saleya in the flower market of Old Nice. It is in a tourist area with many restaurants. This Italian restaurant is known for its generous portions and quality ingredients, all at very reasonable price. It has a terrace, but because it was December, we chose to eat inside. The main room is large and inviting, with modern white décor. The menu includes all the classics of Italian cuisine: antipasti, pizza, salad, pasta... Between the two of us we shared the house specialty - "Regatoni al Forno". It was penne pasta baked with tomato, mozzarella, eggplant and meat, and my friend chose the spaghetti carbonara. To drink, we had a typical Lambrusco. The portions are impressive, it's like they bring you a whole pot! None of us finished our whole plate, and we didn't have room for dessert. The main courses cost between 8 and 10 euros, and are ideal for sharing. We ate in the evening, a perfect time because by the time we left there was a long line to get in to eat. For the price to quality ratio it is an excellent choice. My last recommendation: go hungry!
It's a location that you would keep to yourself religiously to avoid the area becoming too crowded! Known in Nice, it offers a wide selection of local specialties, including of course the famous Nice socca. Served generously, extra soft, and very fragrant, it is very delicious. Not to be missed for lovers of fried zucchini and eggplant. Once served at the counter, you may want to nibble on wooden benches and tables, in order to eat the last crumb ...
Admittedly, a walk in the city of Nice, without trying the typical socca is a mistake. To do so, it is best to go to Rene Socca in a narrow street in the old town near Plaza San Francisco. The renowned owner serves one of the best, if not the best, socca in town. What is socca? Its a fairly thick corn biscuit eaten plain or with accompaniment, a bit like a pancake. In Chez Rene also can find all kinds of local delicacies including fried courgette florette. A treat for the summer!
The famous bar of the Hotel Negresco is a charming place, where you feel like a child again. In fact, the trend here is that the decoration is like the game. Therefore, there is a huge carousel in the center of the place and we ate with the horses. The coffee costs a fortune, but you should venture to at least take a look.
Moments is a restaurant that is located on Place Massena, on the side opposite the Promenade du Spangle. It is an Italian-inspired restaurant and remains one of the most innovative restaurants in Nice. Their specialty is a kind of flat bread called, precisely, "Moments" which is really delicious. Good value for money, and the dishes are not heavy nor "the usual stuff". The place is always busy, so make sure you book!
A small restaurant that's not for everyone - the first thing to note is that it is very expensive! If you're on a budget, go elsewhere. But the dishes are really delicious, cooked in an original way without much of the "decoration" that you'll find in trendy modern restaurants. A perfect spot for a nice romantic dinner. The prices of the dishes range from around 20 to 38 euros.
Le Tire Bouchon is a restaurant which only offers tables for two. As you can probably gather, this restaurant is aimed at couples. Personally, I find it a bit too much ... a totally dark room with pink neon lights, all very cliche. The food is average, a bit expensive (dishes generally go for more than 18 euros).
This champagne bar is a hidden gem in the heart of Old Nice. You can enjoy a glass of bubbly with sweet or savory verrines or sushi. The setting is delightful, downstairs in a stylish basement. Great for a special dinner or a romantic occasion. The staff are very nice, and are happy to offer you advice about different types of champagne.
The port area is very pleasant to walk around, there are also a variety of restaurants with large terraces that await you. Unfortunately, many are real tourist traps, with their high prices and poor quality. Therefore, we tried the La Barque Bleue om the recommendation of a friend. And we liked it! The decor is original, and the place smells of Italy, the food is plentiful and reasonably priced. We can only recommend the pasta with foie gras and truffle oil, big salads, or grilled fish. The desserts (presented buffet in the room) are also excellent, and all very rich! Highly recommended!
Despite its small and very evocative name, this pleasant restaurant in Nice has nothing very traditionally from Quebec. You can eat in a lodge type environment, true, but there are more pizzas than burgers. There's no caribou meat or pancakes with maple syrup, but there's good food, served quickly with a smile, on the terrace or the large room. For International foodies!
Le Farniente is the restaurant of the luxury Westminsiter Hotel, located on the route between Anglais and Nice. Despite its appearance and location, you can enjoy it without breaking the bank. A great lunch served very well on Sunday (1/2 bottle of wine, full menu) was €35, which is quite affordable for this type of establishment.
If you want to eat Indian food like you're in the heart of Mumbai, look no more, this restaurant is ideal to eat the best dishes from the East in a colorful environment that smells of India, no kitsch, and very private. We appreciate the small restaurant carts they put throughout the city to attract potential customers.
Recommended by friends as the place to eat "the best pancakes in Nice" la casa del churros is a small shop / snack bar in the heart of the Old Town, Saint Francis. The vendor is nice and friendly, and the pancakes are delicious, generously filled, fluffy, and served with a big smile, which does not hurt. But the real specialty of the area, suggested in the name, lies in its churros. Served chilled, they are deliciously crispy and sweet. A delicious meal not to be missed!
Located on the main shopping street of Massena Square, the restaurant-bar of the same name, is one of the most popular in town for young students and tourists. The prices are affordable, and the menu changes every day. Also, you can enjoy the nice and lively terrace.
This is a great place to sit at a table in summer, listening to jazz and drinking British and Irish beers. During the summer they organise theme nights with different styles of music. Something for everyone!
