Trax Cafe & Bar
To be in a cafe in a train station, where people usually go in a hurry, is much better than many restaurants. It has a part for breakfast with fresh juices and all kinds of sandwiches and pastries, and a portion of the bar in evenings with a big screen TV where people come to watch cricket or football.

McLean Fish&Chips
Possibly one of the best fish & chip shops in New Zealand, I discovered it because I saw that thequeue waiting to buy reached the street. For 3 € you get a nice piece of fresh fish with a large portion of french fries. They also have gourmet choices such as oysters, mussels and different selected fish.

One of the best restaurants in Panapanaumu, specializing in seafood, located on the waterfront, just on the edge of the beach. Fantastic service, they'll even offer you a coffee beforehand.

Duke Carvell's Emporium
If you visit Wellington, it is likely to be a windy day which makes you take rest stops and take refuge in a café. The Duke Carvell's Swan Emporium is a very nice cafe where they have small meals in a relaxed setting. The waitresses are attentive and fun, and it is not strange to find them singing and dancing while doing their job. The last time it was to the music of Dirty Dancing and all the local women came together to sing. It was interesting to see. In the menu they have all kinds of foods of the world, prepared with care for customer satisfaction. It is advisable to go to lunch at different times than the Kiwis, or you will find the place crowded. Like any good local New Zealand, they serve water for free at the beginning and end of the meal.
Restaurants in Kapiti
The restaurant's name tells you all about its location. It occupies a corner with full 180 degree views of the Paraparaumu Beach, and from the beautiful parades you can enjoy the view with a kiwi wine and a fish or seafood starter.

Krumbs Café
One of the best places for breakfast in Paparaumu, with very competitive prices, as you can get an English breakfast for just 3 euros. It is also a good ice cream parlour, with a great range of flavours available.

JJ Murphy & Co
There was great live entertainment, and rugby on TV in this Irish bar where we went for dinner. Reasonable price/ quality relation, and great decor. Staff a little overwhelmed: we had to wait to be served almost half an hour.

Masala Indian Restaurant
An Indian restaurant specializing in Tandoori oven, with a big variety of dishes of chicken, lamb or beef, chicken . My Favorites were the shank and lamb Vindaloo, which are both quite spicy and is a South Indian specialty.
