Wiley's Championship BBQ
Wiley's Championship BBQ has won every championship barbecue in the U.S. It's a small place with few tables, something the owners have consciously done fearing that an expansion would diminish the quality of the food. It's really worth stopping in for a meal. they also sell their own barbecue sauce which, according to them, is "better than sex."

Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream is a specialty ice cream parlor that makes ice cream from scratch. Jeni starts with milk from cows that are grass-fed then builds flavors with fresh ingredients and never adds any chemicals, dyes, or artificial flavoring. Before heading into the shop I suggest taking a look at their website, which takes you from farm to flavor by detailing how some of their favorite flavors are created. The flavors created by Jeni and her staff include old favorites like chocolate, salted caramel, and strawberry and new combinations like sweet cream biscuits & peach jam, pineapple upside down cake, and sweet corn & black raspberries.

Madison Food Carts
Madison, Wisconsin has a great street food scene due to the massive amounts of students from the University of Wisconsin-Madison looking for cheap but delicious eats. Street food carts are located in strategic areas around Madison, such as Library Mall and Capital Square. The carts on the UW-Madison Library Mall are present on weekdays during lunch and the carts are located around Capital Square at lunch, late at night, and on Farmers’ Market Saturdays. The food trucks offer food from all over the world, so it feels as though you travel with your meals or snacks based on the cart you feel at eating at that day.
Cafés in Madison
The Mediterranean Cafe
The Mediterranean Café is a hole in the wall restaurant in a prime location near the University of Wisconsin-Madison side of State Street. They serve incredible Mediterranean food such as hummus, falafel, rice, cheese pies, meat kabobs, and baklava for reasonable prices. This restaurant is only open for lunch so arrive early otherwise you will be unable to sit inside. You wait in line and order your food at the front counter and then the food is brought to you at your table. The seating area is very small and large tables are required to be shared; however, upon entrance it feels as though you've been transported to a new country during your lunch break.
