Cafés in Astoria
Wet Dog Cafe & Brewery
Wet dog cafe is an eclectic restaurant with a brewery, perched right upon the Columbia River. Decor is quirky, but the open space is inviting. The view of the river is nice to gaze at as you sip your beer and eat your food. Wet dog has a restaurant style menu featuring American food and seafood classics. The clam chowder is excellent! The beer list is excellent as well. Try one of the humorously named brews (poop deck porter, bitter bitch imperial IPA) and you will be impressed, as they are solid beers. Wet dog is a good choice for a spot to grab drinks or lunch in Astoria and take in a beautiful view.
Coffee Shops in Astoria
Street 14 Coffee
Street 14 Coffee is a stylish, modern space with a cool, vintage feel. It definitely fits in well with the "historically hip" vibe that Astoria has going on. Street 14 features Stumptown Coffee, which will surely please any coffee snob. The breakfast menu is very good. Think: hearty oatmeal pancakes, delicious breakfast sandwiches. It's also served all day. The lunch menu has excellent options as well. Fresh ingredients well crafted into scrumptious little plates. The service was friendly and attentive. I definitely fell in love with this perfect coffee shop and think it's not to be missed if you're in Astoria.

Baked Alaska
Baked Alaska is known and recommended by the locals in Astoria. It's located right off of the Astoria Riverwalk. It's yet another spot with a great view of the Columbia River with many windows to show off the landscape. It's got an elegant atmosphere, with dim lights (for dinnertime) and classy décor. Restaurant seating wraps around the kitchen, which seemed a bit odd as a first impression. Baked Alaska has many seafood, pasta, salad, and red meat options. I enjoyed the scallops on peach slices. Their deserts are also very decadent. Service was good. Even though it didn't have that "historically hip" vibe we were liking in this area, we thought they had some quality seafood and gorgeous views.
