Picture this: you stroll into this coastal town coffee shop expecting to grab some coffee and a bite to eat. You're pleasantly surprised by cool atmosphere you step into and the groovy music suddenly sucks you in. You start browsing the menu of creative coffee and tea concoctions, as well as nicely put together breakfast and lunch selections. (Excellent lox & bagels!) Of course, your eye can't escape the mesmerizing pastry display. You get up the the counter, and your barista is laid-back, friendly, and hilarious. You find a nice spot to sit, and the place is getting packed. You leave feeling caffeinated, full from great food, happy, and wanting to come back next time! Green Salmon is an awesome coffee shop and cafe. They are built on a strong foundation of ecologically sound business practices, including buying local/fair trade, and taking measures to lower their environmental impact. Definitely stop in to Green Salmon if you're in or around Yachats- you'll be happy you did!
Luna Sea Fish House is located right off of Hwy 101 in Yachats, Oregon. It's a fish market and restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's owned and operated by local fishermen. We stopped in for dinner and were so incredibly pleased! The seafood was freshly caught and seasoned perfectly. We loved the slumgullion (clam chowder with white cheese and bay shrimp), sea scallops and chips, and halibut, albacore, and king salmon and chips. They also serve fish tacos, burgers (for the non-seafood eaters) and great salads. Brunch includes a seafood Benedict, salmon hash, and other scrumptious dishes to try. The atmosphere was quaint and homey, and they have outdoor seating as well. The service was great; friendly and attentive. Everyone we met in Yachats was incredibly nice! If you appreciate fresh-caught and locally harvested seafood, Luna is a must!
