This hotel in Elche is perfectly located for visiting the city and its surroundings. The hotel has private paid parking and a friendly reception staff.
The Hotel consists of cabins surrounded by a lush garden full of palm trees and a swimming pool. The cabins are spacious and have large, comfy beds. The bathrooms were fine. The breakfast was filling and the staff was always helpful.
It's also only a few minutes from the city center in case you want to go visit some monuments or go out for dinner.
We arrived at the Areca Hotel after lunch, checked-in, and then headed to the Arenal beach. We went walking there since the weather was nice.
Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and we got ready to take a dip in the hot tub and sauna they have on the ground floor. We bought a "relaxation package" that also included a relaxing massage. I then went to take a quick shower and back down again to the terrace where we had a sweet cocktail before going for dinner: a delicious sirloin in port-wine sauce that you MUST try if you visit this hotel. After that, I returned to my room to unwind in the large bed and rest up for the long day ahead.
The Jardín Milenio Hotel (known locally as just the "Milenio") is a relaxing and friendly hotel with an excellent location in Elche. It's situated between several palm groves and feels like it's not even in the city. But, within a 5-minute walk you're in the heart of the El Raval historic district, and within a 20-minute walk (or 4min. taxi ride) you'll be in the center of town.
The rooms are comfortable and have large beds, dressers, a refreshingly arctic AC system, cable TV, and comforting views of the Arab-style interior courtyard or the pool area. Speaking of which, the pool area is awesome, it's not crowded at all and is surrounded by flowers and palm trees. There's a waitstaff that'll be happy to bring you a cold beer as you relax under the sun. The interior courtyard with its bubbling fountain and flowing vines is a wonderful place to have your morning coffee after gorging yourself at the breakfast buffet (one of the few I've been to in Europe that has all the ingredients to make NY-style bagels and lox!).
The staff couldn't be more helpful, and there's a restaurant next door which, while we didn't eat there, looked nice and had some cool tables and candles set up in the garden to have a drink in the evenings. All in all, an excellent choice if you're going to visit Elche.
