In the heart of the Old Town you'll find the Vesunna Périgueux, a museum designed by the great architect Jean Nouvel. It protects the remains of a decorated and painted Gallo-Roman house. Everyday life and the ancient city are presented through archaeological collections dating back to the 1st century.
This museum-shop, is around 500m2 big and is situated between the castles of Marqueyssac Castelnaud and Beynac. Entrance is free and inside there are all kinds of gems that they sell by weight. A real treat for the eyes!

The Museum of Art and Archaeology of Perigord is the oldest museum in Perigord. The building was constructed in 1895. Are the days of prehistory, medieval, ethnography, art, art ... A small museum with a bit of everything that is worth a visit if you are lucky enough to pass by the city of Périgueux!
