Bridgetown is the capital of Barbados, a tropical island in the middle of the Caribbean tax haven. I visited once during a cruise. It's really beautiful because although its got the characteristics of a colonial city, but clearly in the XXI century.
This is a very old house or a plantation. Once inside, you can see the rooms of the owners, their children and others that were built in 1660. Of course, it's been renovated as there are hurricanes in this area.
One of the best things you can do in Barbados is a catamaran excursion. There are several companies that offer them. You spend all day enjoying the sea. You can see shipwrecks and eat at the catamaran. There are salads, pasta, or fish (I recommend the Flying Fish, it´s delicious) and dessert is included. The best part is swimming with the turtles. It isn´t super cheap but it´s worth it.
Me friend took us to a well known shop there, when I got there I had no clue what to buy. Its owner, Jill Walker, had paintings that reflect the life of islanders. She had some lovely laminates, tablecloths, trays, t-shirts and books among other things.
