One of the most interesting places I discovered on my trip through the French Cerdanya was the giant solar oven that people can visit to learn about using the sun and its energy. SOLAR OVEN GREAT ODEILLO (CNRS), is a mirror that's 40 meters tall and world famous for scientists. It's one of the most-visited places in this part of France every year. The photos of the people building the impressive oven and it seems that just landed somewhere in the space. The image of the furnace can be seen from almost all the valley of the Cerdanya. Sometimes one of the infinite mirrors flashes you and most surprisingly blind is the thick vegetation surrounding the area where you'll also find a playground. I recommend a visit, will not disappoint, not everything will be stones ;-)
Font-Romeu is a little village on French Sardinia that serves as a jumping off point for skiers who are visiting the resorts in the area (like La Molina). It's a quiet village where we can find accommodation as the [poi = 414741] Hostel Roselande [/ poi].
