The best things to do in Sapporo

There are plenty things to see in Sapporo. The city is surrounded by mountains where you can go skiing, it is full of historic buildings, and it has many fun and interesting local shops. There are always things to do in Sapporo. Of all the places to visit in Sapporo, the mountains overlooking the city are the number one attraction. Just to feel their influence and the alpine air in the surrounding mountain towns is special. Mount Okura and Mount Moiwa offer the best and most impressive views. Also, you can enjoy skiing and many playgrounds in these areas.

The city is also one of the greenest in all of Japan.

There is a lot of stuff to do in Sapporo's parks. Some of them are: Nakajima Park, where you can visit several historic buildings; Maruyama Park, which has a temple and the best known zoo in the city; and the Botanical Garden and Odori Park, which is where the Snow Festival is held each year.

The Beer Museum, in a former factory, is the most interesting and funnest of Sapporo activities. Beer is almost a symbol of the city, since it was Japan's beer manufacturing pioneer. The explanation of the whole process and its history is really quite interesting, making it one of the top attractions in Sapporo.

Other Sapporo attractions are: the University of Hokkaido, the Hokkaido government building, the Clock Tower, and the Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade. Hidden in the woods is the historic village of Hokkaido, which is also well worth a visit. And to end the day, visit the district of Susukino, where you can enjoy the evening in fashionable bars and restaurants. Finally, add "visit pubs" to your list of what to do in Sapporo to learn a little about the lively nightlife in the city.
