Markets in Ajdabiya
Fish Market
One place that caught my attention and I liked most of Tripoli is the fish market. It is a place that is full of stalls selling all kinds of fish. You can see everything from sharks to swordfish. More than a market, it's like a museum because there is a real exposure of species and all visitors are amazed. The best thing is that after seeing all the places you can choose to eat them, because just opposite the market there are numerous establishments that handle the catch you have selected. To taste them there are terraces with tables that allow you to continue enjoying the market environment. I had never seen anything like it. I loved it. It is like the seafood that in Spain. They show you the products and then you cook them, as well as what happens to big. With countless places to buy fish and many others where you cook it. The place also is full of atmosphere and you always see many Libyans eating in this market. There is also another advantage, that prices are not expensive. The only drawback is that some places are not very hygienic, but the good thing is that you choose what you want and where you buy it.
Of Cultural Interest in Tripoli
The Streets of Tripoli
We Visited Libya in August 2010, and we were surprised that a contry possessing so much wealth was stripped of almost everything. Nevertheless, you can enjoy its archeology, its wilderness, its shores, its climate is just a 3 hour flight from Spain. A luxury that's easily within reach.
Of Touristic Interest in Tripoli
Mar Mediterraneo
I've been lucky enough to go on a few cruises, just travelling on the high sea you notice the immense space all around you. Something always appears in the end, a symbol that tells you that humanity is there and what you thought was immense and inaccessible is actually closer than you thought.
Of Cultural Interest in Derna
Bazaar of Derna
This is the Souk, Derna in Libya. It is a rarely-visited place where there are virtually no tourists as it is an isolated location and Libya is not easily accessible. It is a culturally interesting place where you can learn all about Arab culture without Western influences.
