The Green Bridge, which connects the old and new cities, is one of the few remaining examples of Soviet realist art in Vilnius. It has four groups of statues, two at each end, with the themes of industry, agriculture, peace and youth. In the old days it was painted green, hence its name.
Although he had no connection with the city, the great American musician Frank Zappa has his own monument in Vilnius. The monument is a bust and mural in the the legendary's musician's trademark eccentric style. I suppose it was created by Lithuanian fans and is an interesting and unusual monument to check out.
It is an orthodox church. You can't take pictures during the ceremony, and if you don't put your hands in your pockets during the collection, it will attract attention. But it's worth going in to see, as it's full of colour and detail.
