A dream location for the beaches, people, the climate, and above all the all-inclusive resort, where you can eat 24 hours a day, where they have top brands, with the best service and always with a smile. It is paradise.
If you go to Punta Cana I recommend this hotel. Excellent service, very tasty and abundant food, drinks all the time ... And beaches! They offer a lot of recreational activities like water polo, dance, gymnastics, volleyball and night shows and a club. As it is a complex of many hotels one can use many facilities throughout the chain.
This is a great 4 star hotel right on the Playa Bavaro, with fine white sand and a beautiful turquoise sea. It's a paradise destination, recommended 100%! The best feature in the rooms are the round hydro baths, although they also have TV, safe, fan, terrace with hammock, etc. The Catalonia Bavaro is a tourist resort with basically everything: a private beach, gardens, swimming pools, jacuzzi, bars, disco, casino, shows at night, shopping ... and sports equipment: 2 tennis courts, gym, golf course, games room, all kinds of water sports ... in short, paradise!! The perfect choice for anyone thinking of a relaxing beach holiday in Punta Cana.
Upon arrival at the resort the first thing you notice is the size of the facility. The lobby is huge with two check-in areas. The rooms are the Deluxe Junior Suites, which have two beds plus a sofa bed and a balcony that is a bit small but useful for two people. The rest of the facilities were newly remodeled and have a lot to offer: 3 buffets, 7 themed restaurants, and a bar that is open 24 hours. The pools are huge, the beach activities are the best, catamarans, sunfish, kayaks, and windsurfing are all free to rent, all you have to do is indicate the number of the room. A good choice if you're considering it but never tried.
The truth was that it was a trip that surprised me. I was surprised by the beauty of everything even with the poverty. It is worth visiting and if you look for a party they may even pass you something to smoke. It´s not something to do every year but once in a while it isn´t bad to visit because over there stress doesn´t exist.
If you go to Santo Domingo, you are sure to have good, sunny weather and completely relax. One of the hotels making all of this possible is the Hotel Gran Bahia Principe. The Hotel is located about half an hour from Punta Cana Airport, and an hour and a half from La Romana. With a half-mile beach of white sand, it also hosts several pools that offer aquagym classes and water games. Like all TI hotels, it has several restaurants: Japanese-style, Mediterranean-style, a grill, a gourmet, Italian-style, etc. There are also tennis courts, mini golf and a water sports center. If you like playing golf, a few meters away are the Punta Blanca Golf Club and the Palma Real Golf Club. Although if you want to enjoy the famous "Teeth of the Dog" golf course, you have to drive an hour and a half to Altos de Chavon in La Romana, but it is also one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world and with stunning sea views.
I really liked the location. We went on a few excursions and beach trips, and it was great. The entertainment was the worst thing, due to the timing - too early for us! But that happens in almost every hotel. The beach is beautiful, with fine white sand and crystal-clear waters. Within minutes of walking from the hotel, you find a block full of shops, perfect if you want to do a spot of shopping or pick up some souvenirs.
Next to Palladium Bavaro Beach hotel is in Palladium Punta Cana is the tiniest hotel in the resort area of Palladium. It is an All Inclusive, and instead of villas, it is made up of 3 buildings that have 425 rooms and 26 suites. They are on the beach and it has 2 beach bars, Diving Center, Mini club, pool bar, and the restaurant Grape (also serving snacks) at the foot of the beach is The Cortecito. It also has its own lobby, where there is internet and desk recruiting trips. On the back of the buildings there are villas and other services, but they belong to the Grand Palladium Palace Resort. You can use all the facilities of the other hotels in the resort , except for the Royal Suites.
We stayed in this hotel in early June. I had read many reviews of this hotel, both good and bad. To us, the quality : price ratio seemed very good. It's true that we can't compare it with luxury hotels, but it's much cheaper. The Cabeza de Toro beach is beautiful and very quiet, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming, if a little slow (like all Dominicans - but you can understand why, as life here is very relaxed and stress free). The pool is not very big, but I went 3-4 times and it was just fine. Great entertainment service, with some decent shows. The room is not huge - this isn't a 5-star hotel - but we didn't spend much time in there. With so much sunshine, who wants to be stuck indoors? And of course, we appreciated the terrace and the king-size bed. The food is good - breakfast and lunch buffet, and dinners in specialty restaurants. A relaxing place with a great atmosphere. We really enjoyed it.
Bavaro is one of my favourite domestic tourist destinations! The beaches are beautiful, with crystal clear water and white sand. On this occasion I stayed at the Barcelo resort. In one of the gardens I meet a beautiful flamingo who posed for picture without any qualms!
We arrived at the airport in Punta Cana in a small plane. The airport is very simple, with a roof made of palm leaves. The tour guide explained that the small wooden houses were typical Dominican buildings. It has eating areas, and is extremely comfortable, with flights arriving from the major cities of the world, especially Europe and America. We moved on to the Riu Palace Macao hotel, a 5-star resort with a three-storey colonial-style building on the beach of Arena Gorda.
It offers all kinds of amenities among towering palms, lush plants and flowers, and a splendid beach with white sands, and clear, warm, turquoise water. The pool is a real beauty, with its water jets and bronze mermaids. Room service was excellent, and the room was spacious. You could have fit another bed in the huge bathroom! Breakfast is served in the dining room until 10 am, with a wide variety of food to suit all tastes. They have aqua gymnastics, a spa, a nightclub, a beach bar serving fresh fruit juices, dancing on the beach, a gym and a casino. There were several restaurants and bars, each with a different atmosphere. We stayed for a week in October, and would really recommend it.
All services included! The Spa Hotel RIU Palace Punta Cana, which is at the entrance of the hotel and along the road leading to the Caribbean Street complex. It is painted in white in the colonial style, and inside it is very spacious, with a beautiful fountain surrounded by gardens. Guests can use the gym, sauna or two thermal pools and hot tub and hot and cold water tub. You can also get a massage, beauty treatments, etc. ...
Although it's within the Palladium complex, this is a luxury hotel exclusively for adults, with VIP treatment (even with a butler), making it ideal for a honeymoon. Guests staying in these suites can use the facilities of the other three Palladium resorts, but not vice-versa. It is quite large, with its own pool with sun loungers right on the water. It has a private beach area with Balinese beds instead of chairs, and a beach bar where the waiter will bring your drinks right to your hammock. Its exclusive restaurant is The Royal Gourmet for dinner a la carte. It is in the vicinity of the hotel complex where you'll find the spa (massages, fitness centre, beauty centre, sauna, jacuzzi, etc).
This is the perfect place if you're on a tight budget. The prices of rooms range from US$25 for one person to $35 for two, and they are charming and natural. The owners and staff are friendly, and the price includes breakfast. It's close to the heart of Bavaro Punta Cana, ten minutes from the beach with a transfer service provided by the owners to anywhere in the zone. The courtyard is full of nature, with lots of greenery and beautiful caves. Just perfect!
It is located next to a spectacular beach with super white sand and palm trees. The architecture is "Spanish type", well, except for the differences. The hotel overall is not bad ,especially considering the price, but needs updating. The rooms are very large, but the cabinet doors do not close, the air conditioning fails often, its a little dated, but with all the amenities. The resort is quite large, so if you are looking at the beach, as was our case, the view is outstanding with the quietest rooms, but you have to go round the entire hotel every time you go to the dining room. It has Wi-Fi, but you have to pay for it, and it works poorly.
This is the largest resort in the entire Palladium complex, opposite the Playa El Cortecito. Its 29 villas contain no less than 274 rooms and 90 suites. There are several bars and beach kiosks, and the amphitheatre offers merengue shows every night. There's a sports complex with 6 tennis courts, mini golf, table tennis, archery and target shooting, badminton, basketball, billiards, darts, etc, and two pools: one just behind the Palladium Punta Cana building, next to the Behique buffet restaurant, and another next to the beach and the Bohio restaurant. Behind is the reception, lobby bar, casino and spa (massages, fitness centre, beauty centre, sauna, jacuzzi, etc), along with shops, a medical centre and an array of restaurants:
* Restaurant Sumptuori (for dinner), specializing in Japanese cuisine. You can dine à la carte or sign up for the spectacular live show.
* Rodizio (for dinner) restaurant, specializing in Brazilian food. The first course is a buffet of salads, and for the second, the waiters serve different types of meat roasted on huge skewers. (we didn't like it so much)
* Restaurant Mare Nostrum, Italian. It has a nice a la carte dinner where you can choose three courses. Lots of food, good quality.
* Restaurant Las Torres, buffet. The worst of the breakfasts. In the evening, there are different thematic buffets for each day of the week (Dominican food, Japanese food, Italian food, American food, etc). On Friday there is a "gala dinner".
You can use all the facilities and restaurants of any of the Palladium hotels, except the exclusive Royal Suites, and there is a free train that runs through the four hotels.
ROOMS: Our room was 6705 and was wonderful. it was on the ground floor of one of the villas, with a terrace-porch at the front with a couple of chairs. It was also very well-placed - in the back was a pool, and the restaurants and shops were in front. The room was very spacious with two large beds pushed together, a desk, a cabinet to accommodate the minibar (it only had soft drinks, water and beer) and tv, coffee maker, and a large wardrobe where the safe was located (free). There was thermostatically controlled air conditioning and a fan on the ceiling lamp. The bathroom was semi integrated into the room: Next to the bed there was an oval hydro bath (which we didn't try), and occupying the entire wall of the room, a large, marble counter top in which the sink was set. We had a hairdryer, magnifying mirror, and a complete set of amenities that were replenished every day. There were two separate doors for the toilet and shower. It was all spotless. Everyday the room was cleaned, and the towels changed. All the details were perfect - every day we found natural flowers perfectly placed on the edge of the bathtub and basin, and clean towels.
What can we say about this hotel? As soon as we got onto the plane at the end of the holiday, we were already dreaming of returning! This is one of five resorts located next to each other, where you can enjoy all the services, restaurants and beaches, like in a self-contained city. There's a train that runs to different parts of the village. Bavaro Casino is located a little bit far from the best beach in Punta Cana, but you can get to the sea in a 10-minute walk. Inside the hall is a small pond where several pink flamingos live, and it's not far from the tennis courts and mini golf.
An unforgettable trip! This photo was taken around 5:15 am the night before. We went to bed at about 11pm, and I wanted to wake up at 4am to make my morning photo of the coast. It was an incredible experience, watching the sun rising, and reflecting off the sea.
