One of the innovative services of Sol Melia Paradisus resort is in the royal service suite. The concept of space, restaurant, lounge bar with an environment where the traveler feels comfort and relaxation. The royal service suite has other great details other than a butler at your disposal 24 h a day. The pool has a romantic design which has places for privacy and relaxation (no kids) just over 18 year olds. Balinese beds are availbale and a space on the beach where the comfort is maximum. In the gardens there is chill-out music, which can be bought at reception. The cd is called "GABI" and is a new brand of clothing from SolMelia. There are restaurants, bars .. and music ... great!
The Hotel Playa Esmeralda is on the beautiful beach of Guayacanes, in the municipality of San Pedro de Macoris. This is the area's most beautiful beach in the eastern Dominican Republic. It's a little corner of paradise where the splendid architecture of its colonial buildings with cane ceilings, panelled walls and typical limestone mix with luxurious tropical vegetation. The small fishing village of Guayacanes is the end of this splendid setting, composed of small, colourful wooden houses that actually represents the true Dominican. Add to this the joy of music and the simplicity of the dignified and serene people.
This is an amazing boutique hotel with thematic rooms with unique, creative designs, allowing the customer to choose their own preferred environment. It is located a few metres from the cathedral, the Alcazar and the central square, as well as the El Conde mall, one of the most important shopping areas in the city.
This is where the famous novel by Mario Vargas Llosa, "La Fiesta del Chivo", begins. The protagonist, Urania Cabral, returns to Santo Domingo and leaves the hotel. It's a five star hotel with bombastic architecture that's ideally located. In its day, it was one of the best in town. Today, it has fallen a little behind. The rooms are clamouring for reform. But it still has great stuff. The breakfast is excellent. The service is the friendliest I have encountered and above all, it has a pool from which you can watch the sunrise (opens at 6:00 am) without the noise from the unbearable Malecon. It's a typical American chain hotel, perhaps a little too big with long corridors (if your room is at the far wing, you'll get a great workout) and somewhat impersonal. There's a casino next door that never closes and you can change money there. At the door, there are always taxis waiting, though it's better to call a fresh one because they are expensive. The communication to the centre is good, considering the hellish traffic in Santo Domingo. It's well connected with the Colonial Zone and with a wonderful neighbourhood called Gazcue.
Found on the iconic Calle Las Damas opposite the National Pantheon, is this old colonial house converted into an Accor chain hostel. It was a residential mansion from the XVI century high society owned by Francisco Davila who restored it by joining it to the Ovando House (this union is what today forms the hostel). It was considered at the time as one of the most comprehensive in the city because it had a private chapel known as the Chapel of Remedies, a fort, a strong city wall and a tower-vantage point from where they could see the Port of Santo Domingo. Its stone façade with a Gothic doorway is considered unique in America. The interior retains the original Andalusian fountain. The hotel has 104 rooms with minibar, wifi, safe and hair dryer, outdoor pool, gym, restaurant, bar, room service, massage, conference room and business center.
Are you looking for a luxurious place to enjoy the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo? Billini Hotel is the number one choice in the area. It has 24 different luxurious, and comfortable rooms. The building is over 400 years old, so the architects have kept the original structure adapting every corner of it with the latest technology, making it a unique hotel in the Colonial Zone. The view from the terrace, where the pool is located, is simply spectacular, with five centers. The hotel will open its doors to the public from May, 2014.
A beautiful two-story building in blue, located in the city centre. The service is great. I stayed here a short time, but I have good memories. A good place to stay if you're passing through Santo Domingo.
A luxury hotel that offers a big variety of services so its clients have a luxurious stay. They have a boutique, a souvenier shop, a salon, and internet cafe and a casino, many bars, a club and gastronomy, a principle restaurant and 3 restaurants that serve a la carte.
Located on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic, the Oasis Hamaca Resort is quite a holiday resort where vacationing families and professionals have access to spectacular services. The Hotel is 30 km from both the Guavaberry Golf and Country Club and the capital city of Santo Domingo. Guests can enjoy relaxing with the magnificent palms an the patio furniture a certain picturesque ambiance is created.
A small and charming boutique hotel in the heart of Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone. They have taken great care to make this colonial house hotel magnificent. There are a thousand little details like an amazing terrace with magnificent views, a welcoming lounge, and very detailed rooms. Not for lovers of big hotel chains and or huge rooms, this is a different kind of hotel. You can sit in the sun chatting, reading or simply just enjoying your time. Its superb location is just steps away from all of the attractions of the city but it offers a quiet refuge in the evenings. The owners Elizabeth and Edward make you feel very much at home. My stay was for work so it was very short but I´ll return soon to surprise my partner. A GREAT HOTEL
The Barcelo Gran Hotel Lina & Casino is a facility that is situated in the heart of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. It has 9 meeting rooms for conferences and conventions, which will give you everything you need for it to be a success. You will have a good time.
Very good rooms. Excellent breakfast. The staff is very nice. I don´t recommend taking a taxi there because they are much more expensive. They have a huge parking lot. The area is quiet and right next to the viewpoint. It is far from the colonial center, but in the case of Santo Domingo, everything is far away (the city is widespread). There are restaurants nearby. The pool is fabulous and there is almost never anyone in it. The rooms are comfortable and have all the amenities.
