As is often the case, The Village Inn is more than just a hotel, it is the quintessential hotel in the area. The pub and restaurant however are preferred by the locals. Firstly, its location is wonderful, with rural atmosphere, next to Long Lake and overlooking the "Arrochar Alps" (known locally as the mountains surrounding Arrochar). Secondly, as a hotel offering 14 rooms with Scottish motif, spacious, clean and affordable (between £ 40 and £ 80). Thirdly, a small restaurant with a great atmosphere and the best local cuisine (again very affordable) with a variety of products from the lake and mountains. Last but not least, the pub ... a blast, with stone walls and fireplace (the latter now fully operational), with live music and promoting local products, such as Loch Fyne brewed beer (dark and full-bodied ... not suitable for lager lovers). Generally, everything on offer at The Village Inn is quite attractive and has local charm. The service and product is always excellent so it is highly recommendable. So much so, that Tripadvisor has awarded it the certificate of excellence (in Scotland) this year, 2012.
The hotel is in Arrochar in Scotland in Great Britain. Its location is on the banks of a mile long lake called Arrochar Tarbet and the railway station is 10 miles away. It has excellent continental breakfast, plus a bar and restaurant. Free parking is available. Rooms have wi-fi, TV, tea and coffee.
This hotel and campground located near the end of Loch Lomond offers the visitors a hotel, RV park, and a small selection of cheap cabins. Each cozy cabin has space for two or three people and have electric outlets. They're nothing luxurious but they're not bad and they sure are cheap (7 pounds per person per night). You need to bring your own sleeping bag as no sheets or blankets are provided. As for the bathroom, you have to cross the road to go to the facilities at the campsite (they were clean). Interesting place.
