Thalassa is one of the best dive centers I know. The 4 fish is a lovely inn run by a Dutch couple, with 6 rooms, and they are all made of wood with Balinese decoration. Although not a city Manado really interesting, sometimes you have to spend a night en route to the island of Bunaken, famous for diving, and the Celebes hotel is one of the best places as it is next to the pier and is clean, cheap and with great views from the terrace restaurant on the 5th floor.
