The Grand Hotel is situated in the heart of Oslo, just 500 meters from the Royal Palace. It is a flagship hotel where people stay who are going to visit the Scandinavian capital. They serve its rich buffet breakfast at Grand Café, which also has a popular dinner menu. It is worth sitting on the deck and watching the glamorous clientele sitting (if the weather permits). The Grand Hotel also has a rooftop bar and a spa with sauna, pool and steam room. The subway station is steps away and Oslo Central Station is less than 10 minutes walk.
Located in a convenient area and close to the Royal Palace. It has Wi-Fi and all the amenities, such as gym, sauna ... If you're lucky and you get a room on the upper floors, you will enjoy breathtaking views of Oslo. A drink on the top floor and watching cruises enter to Oslo harbor is a good way to pass the time.

The building outside is not attractive and the street (with steep slope) also draws much attention. However it is well located, close to downtown and within walking distance of the most interesting places of the city. I was only three days, for my job, but it gave me a little time to visit the city, the port, etc. It was also very close to the train-metro (spectacular, certainly modern in Norway and clean) "Nationaltheatrer" and Solli with an airport connection. The hotel is "sustainable" and "environmentally friendly" with organic materials and biological products. I tried were the breakfast ... mmm .. delicious .. nothing sanísimos and croissant filled colesterolazo, the only one thing, if you are not used do not take too much. The room was perfect, comfortable and modern - it had a pretty big apple screen with which you can connect to the Internet and work from bed, there was a mural-wall separating the bed from the small entry space with table and armchairs. They had a spa too that you can use throughout your stay. Super nice staff, perfect communication in English (as is the case throughout Scandinavia). Very friendly - I was flying back in the evening and let me stay at the spa "killing time" until my time to catch the metro - it was great. I did not take photos of the hotel or room, but seriously it is beautiful, do not be misled by the facade (horrible... in contrast to the good architecture they have there).
The Soria Moria Hotel and Conference Center is situated 12 kilometers from the heart of Oslo. The 156 rooms are spread over four floors. All have modern decorations, warm tones and equipped with satellite tv, internet connection, hairdryer and mini bar. Guests can enjoy the indoor pool and sauna. They also offer a bookstore, and internet access. There are 8 meeting rooms with a capacity for 80 people but if they are assembled it can accommodate more than 280 people. There are 180 parking spaces and a helipad. The restaurant has views of the forest and the bar has a big variety of drinks on their international menu.
Considering how expensive Oslo is, it's nice to find a new, clean place, that is not overly expensive. You have free coffee and a microwave to not break your budget. Definitely more than you need, plus the hotel is centrally located and you can walk to the main street safely.
This was our last hotel in Norway - a large hotel, near the central railway station, and well-connected by all means of transport to the main attractions of the city and the airport, with trains running every 20-30 minutes. The reception was very efficient, with a friendly and helpful staff. The room was spacious, with large, comfortable beds and perfect soundproofing. The ensuite bathroom was big, with underfloor eating. There was no fridge in the room, but there was a safe. The wifi was free, and worked perfectly. Breakfast was quite good, although at peak time it got very busy, and was a bit chaotic.
Although this hostel is a bit far from the city, it can easily be reached by train or bus. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful, and it's clean and comfortable. There's a common kitchen on every floor, as well as an area with a television. One advantage of this hostel is that breakfast - with Norwegian food - is included. Unfortunately, it's only open in summer.

The Opera Hotel, as its name suggests, is very close to the spectacular new Oslo Opera House, in an area that is still under construction as the city expands with ultramodern buildings. It is a new, striking hotel with a huge but cozy lobby, and nice and spacious rooms. Mine was on the first floor, overlooking the train station, but the soundproofing was excellent. The wifi is free, but you'll have to ask for the login and password at reception. The coverage is great throughout the hotel. The breakfast buffet is very complete, with a Nespresso machine so you can get coffee to suit your taste. And the location is great, near the central station and close to the royal palace.

The aparment Anker Hotel is in Oslo. It's two kilometers from the park "Vigeland Sculpture", the commercial center "Bogstadveien", and the National Gallery of Norway. They have parking, the building has 9 floors that are accessible by lifts. The rooms have the beds made with pine wood and decorated with modern furniture and with a very good bathroom.
The number 17 tram will take you to the Heimgelsgate stop, a few metres away. We arrived late at night, and had to call a phone number to get the keys - this is not a hotel, and therefore had no reception desk. The apartment is very well-equipped. It's a studio with a bed, sofa, plasma TV, and kitchen with all the utensils, so you can save on food rather than going out to expensive Norwegian restaurants. There's a separate bathroom, and we were able to set up a crib for the baby. Everything is clean, the furniture is new, and it's very close to Oslo Cathedral.
