It is the cheapest agency we found in the city, after polling a few (many). What I wanted did not fit into any of the packages offered and the guys from Amazon Wilderness, adjusted it for the same price (in 2007, $ 40 night, when the average was $ 120). We wanted a jungle expedition experience, despite (or because) of the basics that was the hostel, was just fantastic. The boats, canoes, and the hostel itself is quite basic, but more suited to the nature almost impossible. The truth is that I do not want to go to the jungle to watch tv in a log cabin nice cold for air conditioning. Community Cabins are 4, 6 and 12 people. They were building a larger dining room, and run, both the agency and the hostel, a native family. I advise you to be careful with the amount of water that you drink because you can run out. And without gasoline for the boats motorcillos, we had to paddle a couple of good stretches. But this almost makes the matter more participatory, funny and anecdotal. The small agency is in the "arcades" Iron House, on the road leading to the river. And the hostel, in the primary forest of the Amazon, at the foot of Yarina lake.
Situated in the city of Iquitos, just minutes of the Amazon River lies Hotel Acosta. The hotel has airport shuttle service to and from either airport. American breakfast is included daily. There are trips to the Amazon rainforest that are available through the travel agency in the hotel. Access to this hotel is only available through flights from Lima, Peru.
I was staying at the Heliconia Amazon River Lodge for 3 days and 2 nights full of activities so that I could fully experience the wonderful jungle near the Amazon River. During the walk through the jungle monkeys could see a pelejo with their young, toucans and most exciting was watching and bathe in the river with pink dolphins was really exciting. And of locosss piranha fishing. And the Lodge cute wherever you look there's delicious food. I will never forget the chonta. What a glorious view!
Curassow Amazon Lodge has great services in the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo Reserve. This is an ideal place for observing wildlife. Their shortest programs are from 3 days / 2 nights because their lodge is far from Iquitos. The lodge is rustic, made of wood, but have all the necessary to be comfortable after excursions. Rooms have private bathroom with shower, running water and a comfortable bed with a view of the jungle or the Yanayacu river. Tasty meals, a friendly staff and excellent jungle guides. Electricty provided by solar panels just for some hours to recharge cameras.
