As we wanted to get to know Salamanca (it’s beautiful), not know anything, after a long look on the internet, this hotel was our choice as we wanted to be central with little noise at night.
The truth is that it is two minutes from the Salamanca Plaza Mayor or the core of the capital and when in this city everything is within one kilometre.
It is very clean and cosy, rooms are standard with everything necessary for life in them, if you bring a computer Wi-Fi does not exist, but all rooms have a cable connection (offered to us at reception).
Breakfast was included in the price, the usual: juice, toast, croissants and a few cakes. If I repeat the trip, I will stay at the same hotel. (Parking available).
This Parador (state-run tourist hotel), apart from being a hotel in which to stay, is a beautiful place to watch the fireworks of Salamanca. There is a very good atmosphere and everyone is welcome. The housekeeping service is great. I encourage couples go: it is very romantic and has some very beautiful gardens.
When my boyfriend and I went one night, we stayed out having drinks and watching the stars, it was a precious experience. In addition, the Parador de Salamanca has many things that other hotels do not: for example, free internet in the rooms. If you do go, have a pleasant stay.
We were staying in a Hotel Suite and enjoyed the best views of the Cathedrals as well as the convent of San Esteban and the Carmelite Church. From the private terrace overlooking the Cathedral we enjoyed a bottle of champagne. In short, it was an unforgettable stay.
Rather modern hotel, recently built (2002-2003). Located across the river Tormes, not far from downtown, near the Palacio de Congresos, a 15-20 minute walk or 5 euros in taxi. The truth is that it is more of a business hotel, but it deals very well with the needs of any tourist despite not being near the Cathedral or the Plaza.
The good thing is that the area is very quiet, as there is little around ... Well; there is a Lidl that comes in handy to buy a few things and not spend a fortune in the hotel. But one sleeps with hardly any noise and no parking problems (parking in the hotel is 10 euros a day, but is not necessary).
In regards to the hotel it’s very good. The hall is spacious with café and seating area, staff very friendly and very patient (I mention it if you go for stag night or something similar and you make a little mess…). Of course, all very clean and cared for.
The rooms (there are around 80) are very comprehensive, with minibar, large TV, large and comfortable beds, wireless internet, ample wardrobe space, a safe that is activated by credit card.... And the bathroom with shower and bathtub, so that the customer can choose. And all the comforts you may need, such as soaps, caps, sponges, toothbrushes...
Breakfast is also very complete, but better to get it together with the room as it is a bit expensive, although just opposite the hotel there is a bar where you can eat a good breakfast for a lot less money.
It also has spacious function rooms for conferences or meetings, all very complete. And inside is the restaurant Via Plata, very small with a not too extensive menu, but of great quality, although in Salamanca it is best to eat tapas and the like in the centre.
The price, as everywhere, varies according to date, but the average is about 60 euros per double room without breakfast.
In short, a pretty good option value when visiting Salamanca. Although not right in the centre, it does not take anything to walk and at night it’s very quiet, no noise of people drinking on the streets or cars honking like crazy not letting one sleep.
5 star luxury. Located about 5 minutes from the Plaza Mayor. There is free internet and a gym, among other services. The rooms are spacious and luxurious, including relaxing showers with hydro-massage. Perfect for people who love antiques and tradition.
This modern new hotel occupies a beautiful building in the old town, near the square of the old cathedral, a unique and spectacular sight. It is tastefully decorated and has 37 rooms that include free internet. The hotel restaurant is called "Casa de la Pizarra" and offers an excellent wine list and some delicious dishes.
The NH Palacio De Castellanos is located in the downtown Salamanca just 500 metres from the Plaza Mayor. It has 58 rooms, 11 singles and 47 doubles, including 4 duplex-style junior suites, spread over 3 floors. All are fully equipped and offer air conditioning, satellite TV, minibar and work desk, and there are other amenities like room service and laundry. The Hotel Palacio De San Esteban is located in Salamanca. This luxury hotel offers 51 spacious rooms and suites with air conditioning, private bathroom and full seating area, TV and minibar. Hotel features include a library lounge with TV and reading area, daily newspaper, restaurant, Wi-Fi, gym, steam bath, cafe bar and outdoor terrace. Artheus Carmelitas Salamanca is a very nice hotel in downtown Salamanca where we spent two nights. the staff is very friendly and the price with breakfast included was more than acceptable. We'd definitely repeat!
This is by far the best hotel I've ever been in. We didn't stay in the best suite, and it still surprised me - a huge room, amenities like bathrobes and slippers, and all the gels and creams. A giant jacuzzi, lovely location, and good buffet. The quality justifies the price. Would definitely return.
Rooms old and some refurbshed. Cleaning lint is bad enough under the bed and there was a peanut for a week on the ground. Very bright and with room for a patio where you see pipes and plumbing. No toothbrush or knife and a big tub of the 16th century. If you want a bad experience and pay a crazy price this is your place.
Salamanca Inn is a hostel with a great location. Almost next to the Plaza Mayor, it's a stone's throw from the interesting places in the city centre, including restaurants and nightclubs. Highlights include the staff and the wifi, both excellent. My room was small, but the housekeeping worked like clockwork. Recommended. A little noise from the street at the beginning of the night, as it is in a busy area. The room had a TV and comfortable bed. Great value.
An ideal place to stay on a budget, near the Puente Romano de Salamanca with parking outside. Walking to the centre of Salamanca takes 10 minutes, and if you need to go late, tell the owner and you won't have any porblems. The room has a bathroom, TV, and heating. About 32 or 35 euros for a double room, and 45 for a triple.
Two weeks ago I stayed at this hostel with some colleagues and we were treated very well. The room is clean, with towels and soap and shampoo sachets. There's a TV and free wifi. For TV they ask for a 20 € deposit which you get back when you leave. It is much better than any other place I've stayed in Salamanca.
Located just 3 minutes walk from Spain's oldest university, the University of Salamanca, and 5 from the cathedral. All the facilities have been renovated and adapted to fit the modern age, but with traditional style. All rooms are equipped with private bathroom inside, heating, air conditioning, refrigerator, telephone, television, and free WIFI. It also has a hairdryer and alarm service for guests upon request at reception. Private garage in the same square. Luggage service is free, 24h.
Arjori Rooms Inn is modern, simple and cozy with 8 rooms, next to the Plaza de España in Salamanca. Distinguished by its location, just 5 minutes walk from the Plaza Mayor with all the monuments and nightlife in the city, besides being located just 200 meters from Calle Van Dyck, the area most known by locals for tapas. The train and bus stations are about 10 minutes away. It is ideal to organize your visit to Salamanca with family and friends, as it has rooms for up to 5 people, all simple but comfortable, with private bathroom, television, and free WIFI. It's centrality, along with the family atmosphere, offers a total comfort to enjoy a visit to Salamanca. Opening reception: from 11h to 14h and 16h to 21: 30h, Saturdays: 11h to 14h and 16h to 19h
My partner and I were comparing prices on different guesthouses, and this one seemed the best to us. But on arrival, we were surprised: it was really nothing like the photos. The bathroom consists of a shower, sink and toilet, all in a space of about two square metres at most. The room was spacious, but we had one more bed than we had requested. The service was nothing to write home about. In my opinion, the only good thing about it is its central location.
I'm going to do the human race a favour when I tell you that this guesthouse is NOT RECOMMENDED. It's filthy! We didn't dare to use the shower, and the toilet bowl had a suspiciously greasy film, which matched the slippery, wet floor. We didn't even want to dry our faces with the towels they left us - everything was so dirty. But the worst thing of all was that we spent the night shivering like leaves, at about the same temperature as in the street. We had to go to bed with our jackets on, and still didn't sleep a wink all night. That's because a double room, with two fairly large twin beds and a towering ceiling had a tiny radiator, which was turned on at 11 pm. If we put our hands on it, we could feel a slight warmth. Yeah, it's cheap, but you'd be better off sleeping outside on a bench. The owners seem like nice people, and I feel for them, but things desperately need to improve here.
