This campground was recommended by the guy with whom I did the safari in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. The truth is that with the views it has and being where the local people gather to drink, it is a cool place to spend the afternoon chatting and drinking beer. For around 10,000 shillings they loan you the tent, mattress and sheets. I was lucky enough to wake up when the bouncer from the bar (with his AK-47 on his back) hit a spoon against a pan, I understood nothing until I turned around and saw a whole family of elephants 100m from my tent, the man was making noise so the elephants wouldn't get too close and trample me. Apparently in Katunguru is it normal that elephants come down at night and walk around the small town. This awakening, with a family of elephants, a pink dawn , looked like it was painted by a genius, as I was in the middle of Uganda, it is one of the lasting memories that I have from this amazing country.
The hotel is about an hour's drive(127km) from Entebbe depending on traffic. The pool is free to all residents and the rooms are spacious, clean and fresh. The ambiance is very calm and it's a very good place to visit for those looking for peace and quiet. As you can see, these cute little moneys welcome you when you visit the hotel. This is very lovely for those interested in wild life.

I visited this beautiful hotel when searching for a venue for our coregroup meeting. Its a hotel set in a school that helps the abandoned children within the community of Kayunga, Mukono. For those children who are orphans and want to have an education can come to this place. Its home away from home but also for those visiting, you cant help but appreciate and give the little you have to better the lives of the innocent young children
This is a very beautiful hotel hidden in the outskirts of Mukono. Very few people seem to know about it. I too had no idea this place existed till I went to visit a cousin who mentioned it in passing. The distance from Entebbe to the hotel is 92.2km.
It is a break taking little escape island with a beautiful scenery. The rooms are 10 in total and are very spacious, clean and fresh. There are twin rooms for those ve may travel with family and single rooms for single travelers.
There are no TVs in the bedrooms which encourages the traveler to enjoy nature. If you want to watch television, you can do so in the lounging area but if you are not a TV fun, then you can opt to take a book from the library at the lounge as well and go read from outside.
Don't take my word for it but let the photos do the talking :-)
