Sheraton Montevideo Hotel is situated 3 blocks from the Rambla and is a 5-star hotel. It has all the facilities that a business traveler would need to make life easier. Functional and comfortable spacious rooms, friendly service, a big variety of food and luxury in every detail, all in perfect balance. I want to return to this hotel and then get to know Montevideo ... well, in that order.
This hotel is ideally located near the airport, the Montevideo Shopping Centre, World Trade Centre, and the Museum of Oceanography. The service is fast and friendly, and the apartments are spacious, well decorated, and very clean. The buffet style breakfast is also fairly complete, and best of all, the hotel is within walking distance of Las Ramblas. A great option if you want to take a walk in the mornings or evenings.
I don´t recommend making deals with these gentlemen. On my first trip to Uruguay, I searched the internet and came across this hotel option. I contacted them by mail and Mr. Pablo de los Campos responded. We agreed upon the price and I made a financial transfer via Western Union. Big mistake. Pablo called me a couple of weeks later to tell me that the apartment wasn´t available and to ask if i could come come two days later. I told him I could not as I had already purchased my tickets and booked a place in Punta del Este at the end of my stay in Montevideo. Mr. Pablo gave me no solution. So, I was without a reservation for my first few days in Montevideo. Mr. Pablo advised me to cancel the deposit made to Western Union so I did but I was not able to get the commission refunded. So, the problem with working with these people is that if they do not fulfill their commitment, I lose and if I do not keep my commitment, I lose.
An economical choice in south central Montevideo, it is 2 stars, has 18 rooms that are spotless, private bathrooms (one with Jacuzzi), hairdryer, telephone, minibar, stereo equipment, LCD cable TV, AC, and Wi- Fi in the hotel. They also have two computers totally free for use. It is special for its location, where it is easy to enjoy the traditional parade and carnival performances in the theater in Rodo Park. Situated just 3 blocks from the waterfront of Montevideo and the main avenue of Montevideo. Highly recommended for its price / comfort.
The Unplugged Hostel Suites Centro met all of my expectations, and it had a great location, you can walk to the center, the promenade, the Estadio Centenario, the bus terminal in Tres Cruces, etc. from it. I.e. it's in the middle of all the city's sights. The room (Private room with a double bed in my case) was very spacious and came with a private bathroom, a table, a place to prepare food, and a small terrace. It was a pretty good price compared to other hostels in the area. But, undoubtedly one of the most important factors here is the environment, which in this case meets expectations 100%, meaning that it generates good vibes with the guests, thanks to the work of a staff that always wants to talk to you and see if you're doing all right. There's also a guy, Arturo, who's in charge of having fun in the hostel. He left me with a great impression and it was a great experience to stay here. On top of all that, it has an elevator.
This is a recently opened hotel in a spectacular place. In accordance with Eros hotels, it has it all: location, location, location. Super comfortable beds, tasty breakfast, coffee, and a lot of Brazilians, you'll feel at home. The staff is attentive but lacking some experience, perhaps for being a new hotel. Besides a good cinema, and a Macdonalds that is open 24 hours, there are several shops and restaurants. Five blocks from Punta Carretas Shopping, there are even more options!
I love a good night's sleep and a good wine! Who needs a concierge if you have a sommelier? You could easily spend your entire stay in this hotel, just enjoying the wonderful wines they have on offer. Apart from the drinks, this hotel is on the list of Montevideo's best gay-friendly options.
The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere with the best service that satisfies even the most demanding businessmen or tourists. Their customers can choose from 30 elegant and spacious suites. This hotel is in one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of Carrasco. Its amenities include a pub, a gym with jacuzzi, outdoor pool and conference room.
I came here in high season, and it's one of those hostels where you need to be a deep sleeper or you'll be kept up all night by the opening and closing of doors. On the other hand, if you want to party, you won't lack for company! I was in a shared room, but the hostel also offers single or double rooms that seem to be quite decent. If you have problems with damp and mould, it's important to ask for a well-ventilated room, as some of them have quite a strong smell. This doesn't usually bother me, especially in the type of old buildings you'll find in Uruguay, but it could be a problem for some. The staff are attentive and lively, and I had a very positive experience. It is well-located, easily reached by public transport.
This is a very good hotel. Their website is simple, but the hotel is optimal. You have two options, a room facing the "sea", which is surely a little bit more expensive than a normal room. The normal room had a bath and two single beds, which was good because I was with a friend and chose individual beds. The cafe was calm in the morning, with a menu full of interesting things, and what I wanted to eat. I could fill the water bottle in a cooler that was that way, too. It's in the center, but not far from the bus, which cost 21 Uruguayan pesos and you can catch it in front of the hotel.
It is situated near the center of the city, surrounded by stores, malls, gastronomic areas, and close to the main business district of the region. It is situated near the port of Montevideo, just about 5 minutes away where you have the possibility to cross the Rio de la Plata and visit the Argentines. The beach is very close as well.
The city of Montevideo is known for its wonderful coastline. They say it is the longest in the world, with 30 km from the hill of Montevideo to Aleppo. We went last year and were in awe of the city, the people, and especially the food! We stayed at a hotel in the downtown area and made a reservation through http://www.Reservas.Net where the phone and had no problems. You will find some excellent beaches there, for example Ramirez, Resume, malvin, etc.. You will undoubtedly enjoy this capital!
The Cottage Hotel is in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo city, and it is a superior hotel that has 70 perfectly equipped rooms. Its location is ideal for exploring this beautiful city, as well as to taste the local cuisine since there are many restaurants located in the area.
The Armon Suites (Montevideo - Montevideo - Uruguay) is situated in the commercial center of the suburbs Pocitos and Punta Carretas, just meters from the sea and the main shopping centers. The Hotel is a 4 star and has 40 big and modern suites. There is a restaurant, bar, meeting room for 80 people, they cater to business meetings and conferences, spa with heated pool, sauna, gym, garage, whirlpool, Fridge and Microwave.
I stayed a few days in Montevideo. I found the Sharpening Stones hostel on the web. It's a recycled old house with a very artistic feel. Since I love painting this was my favorite part! :) It is about few blocks from the center of the Old City and the promenade, in a quiet neighborhood. Everyone were super friendly and showed me several places to visit. Thanks to them I was able to see a different side to Montevideo. The hostel had a very good price compared to other options. I had internet, which is very important to me!, Shower and breakfast. Thank you and I hope to return soon to Montevideo. This hostel is 100% recommend!
Are you organizing your trip to the capital of Uruguay? One of the most important steps to ensure the success of your trip is to choose where to stay in Montevideo carefully. But relax, because lodging in Montevideo is varied and suits all tastes and budgets. Many of the best Montevideo hotels are concentrated in Punta Carretas, a major commercial and shopping area, and the Pocitos district, near the Rambla de Montevideo. If you want more centrally located hotels in Montevideo, there is also a wide selection in the Old Town, along with inns, which are one of the best options for cheap Montevideo accommodations.
Hostels and guesthouses (with shared or private rooms) are also common in the Uruguayan capital. And if you're traveling in a group or for a long period of time, tourist apartments are a great alternative that combines complete independence with cheap rates. You'd struggle to find Montevideo hotel deals that can compete! On the other hand, tourist apartments tend to be self-catering, so you'd miss out on the Montevideo hotel cooking.
