We celebrated our 1st year anniversary in Tavira and decided on modest accommodation. The customer service and attention to detail, though, was far above modest. Despite the language barriers, they managed to beautifully prepare the room for our special occasion. There was champagne, strawberries, flowers, petals on the bed, candles. Absolutely amazing. Everything seemed to be done by the hands of experts even though it was just a standard place that wasn´t used to preparing for special occasions. They´re obviously willing to make your stay extra nice. Susan, one of the receptionists, speaks very good spanish and is wonderful to work with.
The apartment Clube Do Lago is surrounded by palm trees, waterfalls and gardens, in a very quiet and pleasant environment. You will without a doubt have a great and comfortable stay here. It is ideal for customers who come for business and also for customers who want to enjoy and explore the city of Lisbon. The staff is very attentive and are available at all times.
It was great having chosen this hostal for our stay in Porto, the best part, aside from the price, was the friendliness of the couple who owns this hostal. The woman became our grandmother essentially, asking us how we were, worrying about everything that we did, etc. The couple accompanied us to various places so we could eat like kings for a small price. A luxury.
When I was in Braga I stayed four nights in this hotel I chose, to be honest, because it was the cheapest of the ones I found on minube. I have to say I was very pleased with the price/quality. Of course: It's not the best in the world, it's a little out-dated in decor and doesn't have a large reception hall or rooms to relax on a sofa. The mattresses in the rooms are not the most comfortable and the bathrooms have gone many years without an update. Still, I must say that there are several very positive things in this hotel to warrant staying there: It is very centrally located, has very good service and personal attention (in fact, a 10 for the hotel staff) they have a computer to check the internet for free with no time limit, the rooms are super spacious (they one they gave me was as big as my apartment in Madrid) and the housekeeping was good. Something a bit strange: The hotel is accessed from within the shopping center, so that at night they close and you have to ring a bell to enter. It is a little strange walking through a mall to find an elevator that takes you directly to the reception of a hotel, but it is quite safe.
Pensao Model is a good place for globetrotters, for 25 or 30 euros a night you can sleep in the heart of the Baixa neighbourhood. It's a clean place with several rooms, the perfect place for those wishing to stay in the center of Lisbon. It's only 100 meters from the subway and from the bus that comes from the airport.
The VIP Suites do Marques Aparthotel offers very good service, comfort and hospitality. Among the facilities offered by the resort is a pool with a panoramic terrace with beautiful views of the romantic city of Lisbon. This is an ideal place to enjoy as a couple as the atmosphere is intimate and the staff are friendly and correct.
The Pensao Policarpo is a traditional guesthouse / small hotel which is good, pretty and cheap. The place was an old palace that was built in the sixteenth century, one of the steps referred to it. Very attentive staff, spacious rooms, free Wifi, 2 minutes from the Praça do Giraldo. White and yellow colors, special and charming. Breakfast included in the price and a special room for games, reading, and a computer.
Modern and very economical, but not an over-used hotel. The reception is within a store by the same name (Ale-hop). We had a problem with the hot water, but at check-out they gave us a substantial discount for the inconvenience, a nice touch. It was in the center of Évora, all new, and now you have the possibility of using the kitchen, plus, something very important nowadays, WiFi. Highly recommended.
This Porto hotel - actually a guesthouse, but in my opinion a 4 * hotel has nothing on this - was a great discovery. It's less than 5 minutes walk from downtown, close to a metro stop, so you don't need transport to visit the central points of interest (Bolhao market, the church and tower, Lello bookshop and Irma, Sao Bento station, Cafe Majestic and even the wineries of Vilanova de Gaia). The hous has eight rooms, all fully renovated, and each room has a unique style. There's a communal kitchen where breakfast is served during the stay, but you can eat or drink anything that is served at breakfast (juice, coffee, tea, fruit, bread and jam) at any time of day, in addition to using the kitchen for whatever you want.
The rooms are of a modern minimalist style that combines vintage with modern furniture, besides being comfortable and exceptionally clean. Besides the kitchen, there are other common areas such as a patio, a TV lounge, and a sun terrace, the latter two on the top floor. The hotel itself is outstanding, but the best thing about it is the staff, who offer exquisite service going far beyond the usual. If you don't like hotel staff who take an interest in, and talk to you, I recommend that you look elsewhere. For me, I loved it. Thank you to Raquel, Hugo, Mavi, and Jose for making me feel at home, and making my visit to Porto a unique experience.
H2otel, is a typical mountain hotel that is surrounded by natural spaces where we can enjoy time with our family, and outdoor activities. Hotel capacity: a total of 90 fully equipped rooms, most of them with views of the prettiest scenery offered by nature.
We stayed here three nights, with breakfast included. The room wasn't very modern, but it was very clean, and the kitchen was complete - I expected to find an electric stove, and instead there was a microwave, refrigerator, sink, all kinds of kitchenware in perfect condition, and even an extractor hood. There was a large bathroom, with tub and bidet, and a terrace with a table and two chairs for outdoor dining. The hotel facilities were pretty good, with a large outdoor pool and a very nice indoor pool. We didn't use the other facilities on offer. Breakfast was a buffet that seemed to be more designed for English tourists. They only had a couple of varieties of muffin, and not much fruit or cereal. The rest was all sausages, scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, beans ... I prefer a more Mediterranean breakfast, but if you like this kind of thing, then you'll enjoy it. The overall cleanliness was very good, the staff were charming, and the location was great.
