12 reviews of Malahide Castle

14th century castle

Malahide is a small residential suburb in the north of Dublin. It has several notable Bed and Breakfasts, but the pest part is Malahide Castle. Built in the fourteenth century, the castle today actually serves as a gallery of the National Gallery in Dublin. It is worth visiting (if only from the outside) to enjoy the architecture and the large esplanade where you can relax on sunny days. You can reach Malahide by bus from Dublin in about 20 minutes.

Very beautiful castle to visit

Excellent

It’s far from the city but besides the castle itself, the road to get there has an amazing view so it’s worth the visit!

I got the guided tour through the castle history and the castle museum and liked it!

It’s not a bad picnic spot, and there’s a kids playground just nearby.

Good

There’s a bit to do & there’s a small shop & café inside the castle. It is also very near to Portmarnock & Swords so if you really want to see it for yourself, go ahead. It’s not spectacular but it’s ok.

It’s nice

OK

But it’s not a really good place for see a long time, it’s only too se a short time and it’s all.
