Unbelievable, trust me

This tremendous and impressive glacier is found in Los Glaciares National Park, near El Calafate in Patagonia. It's a spectacular sight and also incredible moving. The park has boat trips and hikes over the ice. Don't forget to bring your camera as the sensation of having a mass of ice that size staring you in the face is unbelievable, trust me.

A maze of ice

It's hard to really add to what's already been said about the Perito Moreno...incredible, unique, surprising, striking, hypnotic, somber....adjectives which fall short in our attempt to describe a place of such jaw-dropping beauty. I'm taking this chance to simply corroborate all that's been said before me by other minube users and, as my testimony, leave these photos for all of you who are still trying to decide on your next trip. Visit Patagonia....whether in Argentina or Chile, it doesn't matter....it's incredible.

Glacier trekking in patagonia

This photo was taken on a six hour ice trekking hike on the surface of the Perito Moreno Glacier in Argentina. It was an unbelievable experience, both because of the vastness of the ice and its surreal glacial blue colors. This almost 20 mile long piece of ice reminded me how ever changing the surface of the Earth is. In an age when many of our glaciers are retreating at an exponential rate, it also made me realize the responsibility I have as a traveler to protect and preserve our world. It's a vista, I hope, more people get to see now and in the future.

Silence reigns throughout the room

Comes the awaited day, and we got up early to go to the glacier Perito Moreno. We very warm, because we are in the middle of winter, and the temperature, although it is clear, is low. We hopped on the bus and we headed to this wonder of nature. The guide tells us: "Let's turn in the road, and once you do, you will have your first view of the glacier." Uff ...! Stunning!,! No words!. The glacier is in the distance, and still appreciate its immensity. After the usual photos, we headed over there. Up close it is, if anything, even more amazing. We walk through the different terraces that rise in front of the glacier, and eat sitting in front. Silence reigns throughout the environment, and is only broken by the breaking of the ice in the water of Lake Argentino.

An incredible adventure

Traveling from the four corners of the world come to see this unique natural wonder. The Perito Moreno Glacier is the star of the Los Glaciares National Park, covering twelve glaciers. The Perito Moreno has no less than 5 kilometers from the front and 60 meters above the level of Lake Argentino. Throughout the year amazes with its spectacular collapse that fragment into huge icebergs. The glacier is visible from the catwalks installed from the same or from tour boats. An amazing adventure is a walk on the glacier, exploring caves, sinkholes and caves of ice. Perito Moreno Glacier is reached from El Calafate, 70 kilometers away. If you travel to faraway Argentina, for anything to be missed.

The eighth wonder of the world

In Glacier National Park is the famous Perito Moreno.Para me is the eighth wonder of the world, I've seen it twice, the first for 12 years and this last November. It's still spectacular, a vision that nobody should miss this world and if you are lucky enough above see breaks, no show in the world like that. Normally breaks every four years but with global warming broke this March and are already calculating that doing so again next year, which would be unusual and would demonstrate that this planet is very sick. To visit one starts from the town of Calafate and has 80 km on Lake Argentino is this maravilla.La Admission is 100 pesos (1 € = 6 pesos) and after walking the runway and be viewed from the front in all its splendor, you can navigate to very near its walls and contemplate these turquoise ice breathtaking. You have to get lucky with the day, which at least has some sun so that it can be seen in all its splendor and watch as the sun's rays are reflected in ancient ice. How long it can continue watching this show is not known, but at the rate we are going the other glaciers do not think they are many years, so I go to see him take advantage as soon as possible

Is silence among visitors

Silence is among visitors as it appears to the eye, as by a tacit agreement to respect the moment. Giant, white, blue, full of sparkle and edge shaped tip. Some boat is approaching the glacier and looks tiny, insignificant. The first image on the retina is to see the Perito Moreno, remains forever. Not only one among the glaciers. When navigating a lake separates into two, making lock, until the water pressure destroys the end part of the expert. I was not lucky enough to see it (happens every few years, without a fixed schedule), but if I could see large chunks of ice break off the glacier wall.

The white giant

The Perito Moreno Glacier is part of the Park and National Reservation Los Glaciares, located southwest of the province of Santa Cruz. I put as El Calafate your location actually, because it's a destination for almost all tourists who visit this city, about 50 miles away and the most practical way to reach the attraction. The city is very easy to find agencies that do the ride. We tour at Americal del Sur Hostel, where we were staying, we paid: $ 130 + $ AR AR 75 Entrance to National Park for foreigners AR $ 25 for Argentinos. The tour is like any other tourist attractions in: people, people and more people, has a restaurant at the entrance to the park and the boat ride you pay AR $ 50.00 per person. Children under 12 do not pay to enter the park and not on the boat trip. The park is extremely organized, you walk on wooden walkways and vai admiring the immense glacier, in front. Boat or even of viewpoints, the show (besides the visual, indescribable, are almost 5 km long and 60 meters above the lake level) and tourists are expected by the detachment of large blocks of ice, given the surprising and curious phenomenon in that its large mass of ice moves continuously, causing the accumulation, rupture and its detachment in bangs, imagine that in the beginning are thunder and then our ears get used to the noise and identify the fall. There is the classic ride, riding the glacier and drink whiskey with glacier ice, but considering the price and did not drink, did not do the tour. The mini-trekking: AR $ 430 + $ 70 AR tranfer and Big Ice: AR $ 650 + $ 70 AR tranfer

O gigante branco

A show that no one should lose

Honestly, it's a show that nobody should miss. It is an imposing mass of ice surrounded by endless forests and mountains. The Perito Moreno is perhaps the most famous of the glaciers that form the Los Glaciares National Park, this park has an area of about 7,200 square kilometers and consists of 356 glaciers. The Perito Moreno has a front of 5 km and sixty feet high. It is 80 kms from El Calafate, leaving point from most excursions. The truth is that the view from the front is great, there are gateways through which you can walk and "delighting" with the view of the glacier. Keyrings and snacks or food you can eat on a terrace that looks out to the front of the glacier and well nourished while you can continue watching.

When god made the pens edn in amric

Back on land after having seen the South face of Perito Moreno and the end of our two days in these parts, having walked this impressive glacier front, the wonders of nature never cease to enraptured in contemplation. We walked in silence, camera in hand and balconies circuits arranged in uneven walkways that allow us to see it widely and looking I have in my mind a song of Valencian Nino Bravo called America, and that in one of his verses sung: "America, America a huge garden all this is America. When God made the Eden thought in America. "Hopefully those who think opencast mines remember God and Nino Bravo and his wonderful song about this America. Cruise data are MarPatag Cruise.

Beyond belief !!!

The jewel of the "Parque National Los Glaciares" is represented by the spectacular "Perito Moreno Glacier", one of the most visited places in South America. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located about 80 km. from "El Calafate". Spread over more than 30 km. of "location" and then "flows" into Lake Argentino with a front of about 4 km. - Beyond the vision, "Perito Moreno" is also "heard" through the frequent roar determined by the huge masses of ice that off, recline and glide across the waters of Lake Argentino.

Trekking on the glacier

Nature in Argentina is from another planet. The size of the country allows you to have desert, rainforest, mountain ... It's a beast. After visiting the Iguazu Falls, a wonder, in 48 hours I stood to make a trekking in the National Park by the Perito Moreno Glacier, the most famous, and one of the few that does not diminish at present due to change course climate. In conclusion, in 48 hours I visited two of the most beautiful places on the planet and that anyone with concerns traveling should go at least once in life. For me, Seville and bred, I marveled at the glacier over the falls, even absurd comparison. Will the warm weather in southern Spain and the lack of snow for my city, which made me the expert will impact more. I went in April, in the Argentine autumn. This is an incentive to enjoy the greens and browns of the woods that surround the place. Trekking think is not suitable for all audiences and must be prepared for it is easy to slip and take someone through. It all depends on the quality of crampons that give you the guides, as there are some worn. What to drink a whiskey with glacier ice, and a gingerbread to finish the route is perhaps the least and takes even charm to the visit. It is so majestic place that just the mere contemplation to be astonished. I hope you like the two fotillos.
