Torre Panorámica del Hornisgrinde

From Lake Mummelsee on part of the route that leads to the summit of Mount Hornisgrinde there's a tower with magnificent panoramic views over the Rhine Valley and the Vosges. Le Torre Hornisgrinde is 30 m tall and represents the culmination of a well signposted and interesting walk that leads to a unique natural area, The Grindenpfad. Built in 1910 it has had many different uses and is now a museum with different rooms on the lower floors, if you go up the spiral staircase there's a spectacular viewpoint. It's a perfect spot to photograph the space of peat and the confines of the Black Forest.
