Aqueduct

The aqueduct was built in 1785 by Bishop Fray Antonio de San Miguel to end the prevailing water shortage in the city. Baroque in style it consists of 253 arches and it is 1,700 meters long. It runs along the old Calle Real (now Francisco Madero). It has not been in use since the late nineteenth century.
