1 review of Catterline Bay

A great view

I've described one of these types of bays before, on the east coast of Scotland. If you travel south, from Aberdeen to Dundee for example, and choose the coast road instead of the faster motorway, you will see a number of theses small bays, such as Catterline Bay. Protected by rocky outcrops, these bays offer a natural harbor where sailors and fishermen could be protected from winds and storms. Indeed, when we visited Catterline, we saw that the water in the bay was much calmer than the sea beyond. Catterline is a village, now endangered because of its ageing population. The fishing industry has been reduced to small local boats.
