Good tapas and reasonable price

Nou Candanchu is a tapas restaurant on Rius i Taulet square in Barcelona, in the Gracie neighborhood. It is a small restaurant like the dozens more in Gracia, but I liked the food. It comes in good portions and the prices are reasonable.

Rius i Taulet square is one of the nicest in the neighborhood, there is great atmosphere during summer nights, and the Nou Candanchu gets pretty full. When we arrived we could find a table quickly but it was a little bit of a wait before they could serve us. The tapas are the typical Catalan ones, with a lot of seafood, octopus salad, gambas a la plancha (shrimp)..

Variety and good price

Nou Candanchu is one of my favorite bars in Barcelona's Gracia neighborhood. It is located on Rius I Taulet square, one of the main squares of the neighborhood since you have the headquarters of the town hall of Gracia and well as a bell tower in close proximity.

In a corner of the square, there is a tapas bar that in the summer also has a terrace with 7 or 8 tables. There is a great variety of tapas and good prices. Shrimp pie, fried fish, bombas (fried potato puré bowls), esqueixada (typical salad with cod, tuna, red and green pepper, onion, olive and tomato)... plus sandwiches and some "plato combinado" of the day at about 10€.
