Thai-Myanmar Border

1 review of Thai-Myanmar Border

Beautiful views

The 1149 national road from Chiang Rai in northern Thailand, is a long stretch that runs along the border of this country and its neighbor Myanmar, until you reach the town of Mae Sai, which is the border crossing. It is a nice drive along the lush forested mountains, where you can visit some local tribes, almost all have been exiled from the former Burma. You can even collect lychee from the trees themselves, great if you like this fruit. I had included a tour contract, but if you decide to ride hire bikes, it's easy, the road is not very bad, and is more or less well marked. The only problem is that there is a stretch of road that runs through Myanmar.
