Jardin Botanique de Tours

The Botanical Garden is one of the few city parks located within a reasonable distance of the old town, and big enough for you to forget the surrounding city. It was opened in the nineteenth century, and has been constantly renewed, with temporary exhibitions in the northern building. As a botanical garden, it offers a variety of flowers and plants you won't find in other parks. The greenhouses are only open on Sunday afternoons, while the garden itself has longer opening hours: in summer from 7:45 in the morning, until 10pm, and in winter it closes at 5:30pm (around dusk time).
