Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception

1 review of Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception

Important religious structure

The most important religious structure in Castries is the Immaculate Conception Cathedral within the city, next to [poi = 111130] Derek Walcott park [/ poi ]. It was proclaimed a Basilica in 1999 to mark the 100-year anniversary of its construction. It is certainly an atypical church as few you've ever seen. It has a metal frame covered with a wooden ceiling which is full of murals. The exterior is made of stone, and the bell tower is located at your feet.
