Cvne Wineries

This is one of the centennial wineries in La Rioja and of the most historically important. It came about when the French wine industry was hit with phylloxera and integrated many of the latest technologies at the time.

Among the winery’s gems are the Real de Asúa and Eiffel halls, the latter designed by the same architect behind the Parisian tower. It’s a cavernous hall of some 800 square meters from the beginning of the 20th century. It’s impressive now and was absolutely revolutionary at the time.

In the winery they cleared it up for us. It all started with a printing error on the winery’s first labels. But, they realized that “Cune” is easier to remember and it’s remained that way up until today.

Going beyond simple guided visits, they create a-la-carte experiences for visitors, and I’d suggest seeing the Real de Asúa ad Eiffel halls, as well as the cemetery.

To finish things off, you can also simple some of the wine. In all, it was a very pleasant and interesting visit.
