Although more than 100 years of tradition are behind the vegetable plate, you have to admit that the lamb is what brings the people back. In fact, the second you enter you can see the wood-fire oven where the lambs are prepared and you get anxious to try one.
The preparation couldn't be simpler. Slice the lamb, at a small amount of water, and into the oven. Exquisite.
The restaurant has its own wine cellar (ask if you can visit, it’s worth it) and private dining rooms with their own oven and chimney for events.
The restaurant is divided into both a restaurant and a tapas bar which, according to a lot of locals, is the best Haro has to offer.
The food is great and we had a decadent meal. We started with some mixed appetizers to try a little bit of everything, and finished with Galician beef sirloin with foie gras and a Camero cheese cream sauce and some homemade desserts. The waiters ooze good humor and warmth and their recommendations were spot on.
One of my favorite restaurants in Haro, at least one of those I frequently visit. It is one of the "relatively new" of Haro, that is, it's not part of the group of old and traditional restaurants of Haro. The two or three times I went there I loved it, no doubt it conquered my stomach and palate.
With a very welcoming atmosphere thanks to a rural decoration with a touch of modern color, El Rincón del Noble (The Noble's Corner) is very nice from the start: the organization of the table, the dishes, the details and the waiters' attention. It is the typical place where you sit down to eat and feel good, where you cannot stop looking around all the time to grasp all the details.
The menu, extensive, with cold and warm starters, a lot of fish and meat.. In general, they are traditional products, many of them typical from La Rioja, of prime quality and cooked with much care and presented on the table in an exceptional way. I recommend the anchovies salad with crystal pepper and the eggplant, pepper and tuna salad: both are great, seriously. As for the main dishes, there are many types of meat to choose from. Ours was an ox tail with red wine, very tasty, the meat would melt in our mouths, and it was served with different types of mushrooms.
Finally, the dessert list is also impressive, long and full of real treasures. The pie with violet ice-cream with petals is simply amazing. Since when can an ice-cream taste like violets and flowers? Speechless, it is something I had never tasted before and I will remember it for a long time.
As for the wine list, it is quite long, with the Rioja wine in first place, of course. The prices are not too high. It is actually possible to drink a good "crianza" without paying too much.
As for the price, I have to say it is one of the best value for price of the restaurants in Haro. Even with wine, it does not get exorbitant. You go out of the restaurant feeling really satisfied. The best is the food, but the place, the service and the atmosphere make it even nicer for all the senses.
As the curious sentence of the chef on the menu says, you will eat like a "noble", but not the one of nobility, the noble of the heart. This is where the name of the restaurant comes from. It is relatively new but, thanks to a great work, humility and creativity, it is great. It became one of my favorite ones to have a nice meal in Haro. I highly recommend it.
We arrived at lunch time to the capital of La Rioja, so we decided to go into one of the most famous streets of tapas bars and restaurants.
The choice for this place was random. We saw it had a shadow, that we could sit on the street and the tapas looked good. But, why is it named Beethoven? Well, the founder happens to share his birthday with the brilliant composer ;-)
They offer an interesting selection of dishes from La Rioja, with some delicious Rioja wine to go with it.
The restaurant looks very good, nicely decorated with elements of another time and an area with barrels used as tables for tapas. It was a good way to start the visit of this interesting Rioja city, cradle of many of the most famous wines in Spain.
In the center of the Horseshoe the is a Meson called Los Berones. Be sure to visit us when you come to Haro. Enjoy our tapas and skewers: slippers, gildas, stuffed tortillas, stuffed peppers, patatas bravas, as well as our great menu of the day: beans, potatoes Rioja, salads, scrambled, leg of lamb chops, cod Rioja, squid cooked in its ink .... We're waiting for you all.
This restaurant near Haro is the perfect place to try La Rioja’s unique delicacies.
You can order anything from humble asparagus to lamb chops which are truly succulent.
It’s a good restaurant for the whole family, too, since it’s got plenty of space and a large outdoor area. There’s also a small area with fish, goats, and hens, like a miniature farm.
All in all, it’s an excellent restaurant with good food located next to the Tirón river (the name means “near the Tirón”). Hope you like it!
As a hamlet, this hotel-restaurant is on the outskirts of Haro and has great food. It's also a part of the series of activities in the Rioja Open Terrain, this hotel offers lectures in cooking local cuisine, and, in our case, we learned to prepare Rioja potatoes, stuffed peppers, and little cakes made of ground almonds :)
We arrived at Haro, with a big appetite after a night in Logroño where we had a little dinner and much gin and tonic. So, being tired and almost without having eaten any breakfast, we decided to visit Laguardia and Haro. Following a recommendation considering that it was raining, we had to eat at this restaurant, that after walking in, looks anything but enjoyable. It has the most professional service (the waiter curly haired is among the best I've seen) that served us dishes: Cooked house (caparrones, small and tasty beans with sausage), ham salad and duck foie with some goat cheese, mixed vegetables the best in the world, Hake Riojana, Magret stuffed with foie PX, and regarding the desserts we recommend the glass of the house. Unbeatable price for a round of plus A quality.
The place is not bad, it's at the entrance next to the bullring. There is parking available, they have a menu with four first dishes and four main courses, plus dessert and coffee. The price is 12 €; it's not the cheapest menu, but it's worth it.
Popy's restaurant in the town of Haro, in La Rioja Province. It will be an excellent gastronomic experience for those who like to enjoy a relaxed and fun atmosphere. It has a comfortable living room which is tastefully decorated. Ihe very same offers a variety of homemade dishes as well as delicious pizzas. An ideal place for families to go and enjoy.
