1 review of Foz de Arouce Medieval Bridge

Foz de Arouce Medieval Bridge

Located at the foot of the mountain of the Portuguese town of Lousa, the origins of this town have been lost in the mists of time, with a past that seems to stay in time, and a castle stands out from the vegetation of the mountain, known as Arouce castle dating from the twelfth century. Like this imposing castle, a little castle is located just below. Our Lady of Mercy is the historic medieval bridge, and the bridge has witnessed wars by Napoleon, in an environment of great scenic beauty through which the river and there is also a large waterfall, more visible in the autumn or winter time.
