Hotel El Palén Restaurant

In Segorbe, capital of Alto Palancia in the Castellón region, this hotel-restaurant offers its services in an 18th century building. It was an old bakery and olive oil factory which has been beautifully restored while still retaining its rustic touches.

In the walls of the basement where the restaurant is located, they couldn’t have tacked on more old, antique objects. They serve roast meats and whole suckling pigs if you order a day or two ahead of time.

The lamb chops are unbeatable and are served grilled with garlic, olive oil, and bread. A true delicacy. The stew is also flavorful and the chocolate cake is finger-licking good.
