Ice Skating at the Town Hall of Paris

Every year you can ice skate in the middle of the French capital. A large enclosure is installed in front of the town hall ("le patinoire de l'Hôtel de Ville") that is filled with water and ice is created. There is an oval enclosure for experienced adults (about 1000 square meters) and a smaller space for children and beginners (about 300 square meters). This event lasts about three months (from December to early March) and is very successful among Parisians and tourists (about 140,000 users each year). You can rent skates or bring your own. Most often it is the latter, done on a whim, and it is very comfortable to wear skates around town.
