Balnakeil Church

This church, at Balnakeil Bay, is in ruins today. Built in 1619, it operated until 1843 and was the first Catholic church in Sutherland. It has been renovated a handful of times since 1843, just to keep the remaining walls standing. Surrounding the church is an interesting cemetery with some old gravestones, a few meters from the sea. Very interesting, and in an unusual location.
