1 review of Keswick

A charming village

Keswick is one of the most charming villages in the Lake District in northern England. It's popular with visitors, so you'll find plenty of pubs, restaurants and coffee shops here. The center is very pretty, divided by the River Greta, and you can take a nice walk along the banks of the river. The parks, groves and little stone bridges are really very English, and bring to mind the works of Jane Austen. And indeed many historical literary figures have been attracted by the town and chosen to live here, including the Romantic poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Robert Southey.

Nestled between mountains, rivers and valleys, Keswick is a popular destination for climbers and hikers, so there are some outdoor goods shops here, too.
