Historic and artistic collections are preserved
The Museo di storia locale, is in Bolzano. The Museum is on the border of the pedestrian area. It has a crenellated tower, angle and large Erker portal. The museum was built in 1902-1904 on the foundations of the medieval Hurlach mansion. It was opened in 1905. Many important historic and artistic collections are preserved here such as one of the richest of its kind in South Tyrol: a valuable archaeological collection, art from the medieval and Gothic era and a major exhibition of traditional costumes, such as headdresses and accessories.
