Metropol Hotel

While most excursions in Lake Ohrid leave from little hidden towns in the mountains, this one leaves from the coast, from the Metropol hotel which is on the coast, 8 km or so from Ohrid, on the road to the monastery of St Naum. The first part of the road is very steep which can be difficult and after that you walk through beautiful forests beside refreshing water. You arrive in Knojsko town which is picturesque with beautiful houses, but very few inhabitants. At the entrance of the village is the church of St. Menas. From Konjsko, you travel to Elshani, which has the beautiful church of St Elijah which was built in the 15th century and is known for its frescoes.
