Metropolitan Cathedral

The Metropolitan Cathedral is located in the great Zocalo Central Federal District. Throughout it´s time of construction (more than three hundred years) many styles have appeared on it´s walls. Columns of the Spanish colonial style are fused with French altarpieces, seeking a greater classicism. Its facade is one of the highlights of the baroque-style Spanish architecture in Latin America. Interestingly enough, the fusion of styles make it a architecturally unique, unpredictable and overwhelming. It´s a true symbol of Mexican identity, in its attempt to combine influences, styles and characters.
