Millport

Millport is the capital of and the only city on the island of Cumbrae. The city is situated in the Millport Bay. The beach comes highly recommended for the quality of the sand and its crystal clear waters. The city's economy is based on tourism and fishing. This explains the various souvenir shops, bike hire agencies, small restaurants and hotels, which are mainly situated on the beachfront. Fishing is traditional and limited by the weather. It is very interesting to find everything one can find in a big city, like a cathedral, hospital, police, fire brigade, library and a large park where all enjoy sunny days.
