Lesvos, Greece is the largest island in the North-Eastern area. It is an incredible and beautiful island with fantastic beaches, picturesque villages, friendly people, hot springs and fascinating architecture. Despite tourism, the inhabitants of the island of Lesvos have managed to maintain their traditions and customs. Lesvos is famous for ouzo and for being the home of the Sappho poets. It is very close to Turkey and is also well-known for its olive oil and the monastery of San Rafael.
