Maple Syrup Festival

We visited Mountsberg Conservation Area for their Maple Syrup Festival in March. They have a huge site with tons of maple trees where you can wander around and read fun facts about maple syrup. Then, you can travel back in time and see how maple syrup was originally prepared in a huge iron cauldron. Alternatively, they have a machine that processes maple syrup using modern methods, which haven't differed too much from the old styles. There is a pavilion where you can order pancakes with fresh maple syrup, and you can purchase maple syrup made on site. After eating some yummy maple syrup and maple candies, you can visit the barnyard animals and pet a goat, sheep, bunny, or horse.
