Great Sacred Stupa (Pha That Luang)

This stupa is the national symbol of Laos. Even the Communist Party has permitted this religious monument to remain as part of the national shield. The monument is situated very close to the revolution sqaure, in the capital, Vientiane. This is the third stupa to be built in the same place.
