Viewpoint of Gurugú
The Ayamonte bullring is located on top of a hill which is called Mirador del Gurugú. It is just behind the Convent of the Sisters of the Cross. It was built in 1852 on the land that Francisca Martinez Mill donated in her will to the PP Paules. This building was remodeled and opened again in 1952 by a great team consisted of The Litres, Aparicio and Pepe Gallardo. Since that day, it is still being used for bullfights in the town, especially during the festivities in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows, in the month of September.
