This restaurant is located in the center of Ayamonte, in a narrow street for pedestrians. The place is very small, so they serve you on the street. You need to sign up and wait for your turn in order to use the quite few tables. 2 tables - barrel if the squatters are free. The menu is varied. Tuna with onion is the signature dish, but in my opinion it is overrated. The clams and prawns are good. Great Value. If you are in the area you have to go. The new restaurant opposite the station is closed. The usual one in the center is no longer the same, or similar. Such a shame.
Ayamonte has good tapas places and the bar La Puerta Ancha has recently been discovered this year thanks to its 2011 award for best tapa in Ayamonte: Veal cylinder with chopped beef, red pepper, potato, mushroom, cream ...
In the village Punta del Moral, out of all the bars and restaurants, we decided on this one. It turned out to be, undoubtedly, the best service and dining experience in the area. We recommend the rice or noodles, the squid, the hash and any of the fish. By the way, there are beautiful views of Isla Cristina from the other side of the shore.
Located on one of the city's most central pedestrian streets, behind the Plaza de La Laguna, the Bar The Pupa is one of my favourite places to have tapas in Ayamonte. It's one of the best places to eat typical local tapas. Fried fish, Gazpacho, Huelva prawns, tuna and onions, seasoned eggs, choco balls or Iberian pork are some of their specialties. You can order tapas, half rations or full rations, which allows you to try a larger variety of dishes (I recommend you order a half ration since the portions are very large). Also, the prices are affordable (an average of 8€ ration, 4.50 for a half).
Luciano House is a cozy family restaurant where you can taste different types of the seafood in the area. It is located in the town of Ayamonte, in Huelva. Its treatment of cod is great. But its tasty meats and complete menu of delicious homemade desserts also need to be stressed. It is located on Calle La Palma, 1, Ayamonte, 21400.
The golf club house has moved to the new Hotel Isla Canela Golf, which was the old Hotel Vincci. At the hotel you'll find the Restaurante Thebussem, complete with a tapas-bar area in the reception rooms and terraces with excellent views of the golf course. There are signature tapas from €3.50 as well as more traditional sandwiches and burgers for golfers. At the top end of the hotel is the à la carte restaurant with traditional cuisine and signature dishes which are different from what you usually get in Ayamonte, so you won't leave indifferent.
The Restaurant Bar Manué is one of the most traditional restaurants in Ayamonte. It's a timeless tavern where you can eat well for cheap. It's next to the busy Paseo de la Ribera, opposite the marina. It has a tapas bar and a restaurant. The ambience is an inn-style dining room where predominantly wood and ceramic plates decorate the walls. The menu is based on the area's typical cuisine from Andalusia: fried fish! For example, cuttlefish, squid, baby calamari, fried fish, plaice. However, there are other dishes, like marinated tomatoes, clams, marinated tuna, meatballs or "choco". Of course, you can also order Iberian pork, salads, Portuguese cod, and even a tripe. The portions are unusually large and cost between 6 and 9€ each, or you can order half portions. There are also tapas for 2€. It's certainly totally recommended for good value and quantity.
In the old part downtown Ayamonte, you can enjoy this quite unique coffee place. It is a small site but it is very cozy and quiet. Its decoration reminds me of Parisian cafes and they oftenhave exhibitions to enjoy. It's a good place to have a coffee or even to have a drink if you go at midnight. Do not miss coming to this petite café if you are at Ayamonte.
Restaurante Casa Barberi is located in the center of Ayamonte, in Plaza de la Coronación, opposite the marina. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and very good service. They have a la carte options and a variety of portions. We ate tapas and it was very good. The croquettes and puntillitas (tiny squids) are very good. I totally recommend it.
