1 review of Po Valley

The industrial area of Italy

The Po Valley is a geographical regioon of Italy that includes parts of four regions: Veneto, Lombardy, Piedmont and Emilia Romagna. Crossed by the Po, the Adige and other smaller rivers, it is a fertile territory where, among other agricultural products, rice is cultivated. The climate is very humid, although most of the rainfall is concentrated in the autumn and spring. It's foggy in autumn and winter, and the major cities on the plain are Cremona, Lodi, Mantova, but also Parma and Verona. The smog problem is always present in this area but particularly in the cities. There are plenty of parks with water birds and small mammals, and the area is rich in historically interesting monuments.
